Travels with my SELPHY

At the beginning of the year, we invited photos from You Connect members showing where they’ve taken their SELPHY compact photo printers. An image that caught our eye was by a Swedish member, Eskil Fredriksson, and we knew the story behind it would be fascinating.

Do you travel regularly?
Every year I travel for a month to countries outside Europe and I spend time with people who live in simple conditions – without electricity, for example. One of the things that these people appreciate most is to see a photo of themselves, and particularly to see that image on the screen of the digital camera only moments after the picture was taken.

Why did you choose a SELPHY?
In 2005 I found out that there are battery-powered photo printers that print lab-quality pictures and the Canon SELPHY was the printer that suited me best; its flat shape makes it easy to store in a tightly-sealed plastic box which is essential as I travel in both deserts and jungles.
